The brief

An art shop that could not look like a template

Sara's work moves between pet portraits, tarot, prints, originals, pyrography and market tables. The site had to feel unmistakably Paint and Pyre, give the Feline Familiar Tarot a proper feature moment, and still keep buying or commissioning the work simple.

What we built

Five decisions that shaped the build

  1. 01

    Structure

The deck, gallery, commissions, FAQ, about, markets and shop routes each have a place, so buyers, commissioners and collectors do not have to follow the same path.

  2. 02

    Design direction

A tactile, maximalist art direction: hand-lettered identity, paper texture, strong colour from the artwork and layout that gives the paintings room to be strange, funny and sincere.

  3. 03

    Mobile experience

Gallery, shop and commission pages that stay readable on a phone, where most people first discover an artist through Instagram, TikTok, markets or a shared link.

  4. 04

    Commerce paths

Shopify, eBay, Instagram, gallery and commission links are separated by intent, so a visitor can buy available work, request a portrait or follow future drops.

  5. 05

    Handover and ownership

The owner manages products and gallery pieces directly. Store, domain and accounts are in the client's name.

Project evidence

The client, the work and the offer

Real client assets and live-site context, used to show why the build needed its own shape. Nothing here is AI filler or a fake mockup.

The Paint and Pyre market table with prints and pyrography pieces displayed
Online and in-person sales stay connectedMarkets are part of the business, so the site points people from the booth to the shop, gallery, socials and future dates.

Artwork as the brand systemThe design lets the paintings carry the colour and mood, instead of forcing the studio into a neutral ecommerce template.

A product story, not just a product gridThe Feline Familiar Tarot needed its own narrative section, because it is a collection, a commission story and a future product at the same time.

Commissions stay concreteReal commission imagery makes the custom work feel buyable, understandable and human before the visitor ever reaches a checkout.
